Couponing Deals and Meals

Using many items from the Smiths buy 6 save $3 sale I was able to create sweet and sour meatballs with veggies and noodles.

I must say I was a bit leery because I usually make my own Meatballs, but it turned out delicious! The sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and sour. It didn’t over power the meat at all and the veggies added the perfect balance! They were a tad over cooked for my liking, I blame that on them being frozen, but overall a solid meal to add to the rotation!

The meatballs were .49 each bag after 1.50 off 1 coupons.
The pasta was free with $1/2 coupon or .49 no coupon.
Veggies free. Or 1.49 no coupon

So $1.49 to feed family of 6 twice!! Who can beat that?

Sauce was made with items on hand:
Ketchup
Brown sugar
Rice vinegar
Water
Soy
And I also made a sesame oil to toss the noodles in.

Prep by baking meatballs as directed on package. Meanwhile, mix all the sauce ingredients to taste. Simmer meatballs when they come out the oven for an additional 10mins. Wait to serve!

Stir fry veg, toast sesame seeds,  and boil pasta! Tip: I added oil to my seeds after toasting to toss noodles in.  I’d run out of sesame oil,  but turns out this was a great substitute!
